Introducing WorldSync Inc. - New Home for SyncDeK
Company Announces SyncDeK 5.0 - Next Generation FileMaker Pro Database Synchronization
Berkeley, CA - August 22, 2003
WorldSync, Inc. today announced its company launch as the new home of SyncDeK, the leading technology for synchronizing FileMaker Pro databases. The company acquired SyncDeK from A.E. Wood and Erickson which had developed and supported the product for the past 4 years. WorldSync announced it will initially invest an additional $1M+ to further develop and market SyncDeK. CEO Jason Erickson said WorldSync plans to accelerate SyncDeK product development, enhance customer support resources, and expand worldwide distribution for SyncDeK.
"SyncDeK has been successfully adopted by enterprise workgroups and smaller organizations whose FileMaker-based data sharing communities now include mobile and remote users," said Erickson. "We expect this real-world need for cost-effective data replication solutions to continue to grow. Expanding upon the existing success of SyncDeK, we have assembled a larger team to focus on SyncDeK. WorldSync will be able to deliver more value faster to the growing base of SyncDeK customers."
WorldSync also announced SyncDeK 5.0, scheduled for release in Q4, 2003. The company will preview SyncDeK 5.0 at the FileMaker Developer Conference, August 24-27 in Phoenix, Arizona.
WorldSync's Executive Team
In addition to Erickson as CEO, WorldSync's executive team includes COO/Board Member Eric Jungemann and Chairman Alan Wood. Erickson was Chief Architect of SyncDeK while CTO and Partner with A.E. Wood & Erickson, and will be responsible for WorldSync's strategic roadmap and SyncDeK product development. Jungemann is also General Partner at InfoMatrix LLC, and brings over 20 years of experience in executive management, product development, IT consulting, business operations and corporate finance. Wood, who chairs WorldSync's board of directors, is one of the original architects of SyncDeK and is CEO of A.E. Wood and Erickson, which will continue supporting information management consulting clients as a FileMaker Solutions Alliance Partner, and now as a SyncDeK Value Added Reseller.
SyncDeK 5.0 - Next Generation FileMaker Pro Database Synchronization
SyncDeK 5.0, announced today, is designed to dramatically reduce development costs for FileMaker developers who require flexible, secure and scalable synchronization in their database solutions. The new product version will introduce a core SyncDeK application built as a next generation Java-based service, and activated with FileMaker Pro through a single plug-in. SyncDeK 5.0 also takes advantage of FileMaker Pro's XML capabilities to automatically and transparently manage data exchange.
"SyncDeK 5.0's modern architecture will allow dramatic speed improvements and greater functionality as we move forward in expanding the reach of our product," said Erickson. "With SyncDeK 5.0, installation is simpler for both Mac and PC clients and support costs have been significantly reduced. Our expanded development team is focused on finishing this release, and we are committed to which we will be demonstrating at FileMaker DevCon in Phoenix next week."
About SyncDeK
SyncDeK provides a framework for building and managing distributed database systems with FileMaker Pro . SyncDeK's robust data replication technology allows multiple, distributed copies of a FileMaker database to synchronize data bi-directionally, even without requiring direct connectivity. Replication data (Add, Modify, Delete) is captured and securely encrypted in transit, without the overhead of VPN, SSL and other transport-level security mechanisms. SyncDeK logs all activity locally or centrally, building a record change history that can be used for continuous back-up and quick recovery of data. SyncDeK can also synchronize databases between multiple FileMaker Servers.
SyncDeK customers include NASA, Lockheed Martin, Adobe Systems, Atlanta Hawks and The Dave Matthews Band. Smaller organizations use SyncDeK to support mobile knowledge workers such as sales reps, case managers, technicians, inspectors and emergency.
